Playback stops after around 7-9 minutes #21

#1

Hi all, I'm at a loss..

Running RompR with MPD on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for months without any issue. Now, suddenly, and without major system changes (other than regular software updates), the webradio playback stops after about 7-9 minutes. When I try to resume or connect to another stream, I get the following error message: Player error: Failed to open audio output

Now the weird part: I wanted to debug MPD, so I set it to autospawn=no, killed all instances, and started

LANG=C pulseaudio -vvvv --log-time=1 > pulseverbose.log 2>&1

..but that way everything worked perfectly fine. Autospawn back to yes, reboot, and the playback stops again after 7 minutes.

I'd appreciate any help or pointers towards the right direction. Happy to provide logfiles.

Cheers

Doesn't sound like a Rompr issue. The Player error it is reporting is simply MPD telling Rompr it was unable to open Pulseaudio, so it sounds like Pulseaudio is crashing. I don't use Pulse myself so I don't know how to debug it.

You could start playback using Rompr then close all open instances of Rompr (and romonitor if you're using it) and verify that playback still stops after 7 minutes. If it does then it's definitely not a Rompr issue.
